Week 59 (Week 13 Back in Brazil!)
Feliz Dia das Mães!!! Or rather Happy Mother's Day everybody! This week was awesome as always, with a particular day of the week full of miracles that I am excited to share.
Towards the start of this week we had a meeting with all the zone leaders to discuss the training of all the missionaries, and how the work is going. It was a great meeting, but best of all, I finally got to see my MTC comp, Elder Morales, in person again! He hasn't changed a bit since I last saw him. Okay maybe a little, but it was awesome to talk with him again.
For Mother's Day as well, Elder Souza and I were trying to come up with something musical we could do for our moms, but couldn't figure out anyway with just our phone to play music and record at the same time. I attempted to play piano and sing at the same time, but let me tell you, it's much harder than it looks. So ultimately, we just resorted to singing acapella. But it was also very nice to call my mom and grandma on Sunday as well.

The miracle we saw this week started with a lesson with our new friend Ana. Earlier in the week we had brought her a Book of Mormon and met in person, since her phone was being fixed at the time, and she wanted a Book of Mormon. We mainly just got to know her, and agreed to meet in a couple days to talk about God's Plan of Happiness. Well, the next lesson was wonderful, and Ana really resonated with the things we shared. After a prayer, we left and started walking home (it being pretty late already), but on the way home we both felt prompted to help this older man who was strapping cardboard to his car. We started helping, and then another man parked his car and started helping too. By time the work was just about done, this other man drove off, but then felt a prompting to come back, so he did. Then he offered to take us out to dinner which we couldn't refuse, and so we ate some burgers, and talked with him for the remainder of the night. His name's Bruno, and he was just amazed to see two nicely dressed young men stopping to help someone on the street. Well after getting go know him a bit, we offered to teach English classes to him, and he accepted, so starting this week we are going to start teaching him!
Sadly this is my last week with Elder Souza since he is going to be returning home. But I'm super excited for him. He's got big plans to become a doctor, and even plans to go to school at BYU Idaho, so who knows, maybe I'll see him again in the future.
But anyways, I hope you are all staying safe and healthy. Have a wonderful week!
