Week 35 (Week 18 in Michigan)

Zone Conference! What a week!! Certainly this time of year is amazing, that so many people across the world are showing their gratitude and gathering together with family and friends. I was very impressed hearing President Nelson's message this week, which simply said that gratitude is the best remedy to all the ache and disappointments of this year. Certainly, it has helped me this week to focus on what I have been given, rather than what I have lost.  This week we had our zone conference, where two zones met together for about 4 hours. It was awesome to see a bunch of missionaries and talk about the work! Elder Stone, 3 other sisters, and I put together a little performance of "I Know that My Redeemer Lives" and sang it at conference. Honestly, it turned out really good and I was so grateful to be able to perform. Honestly, it makes me miss musical theater as well as singing in choir. Some of my favorite memories were made singing tunes with my high school barbershop

Visiting Harbor Beach The way I start out these blogs always seems to be the same, so let me share the most random thing I can think of that happened this week. One day we came home around 5:00 to our apartment, and it was already starting to get dark, I grabbed the keys from my pocket, but couldn't see which key was ours, since it was so dark. Then the lights (that have a specific time at night to turn on) turned on, and my companion said "and God said, let there be light". I hope you have enjoyed this random thought 😊. But in all seriousness, this week has been great! Just a little slow, but still fun. We were able to find 2 new friends to each this week, and get this, it was through Facebook. Now maybe that doesn't sound as exciting to you, but I've been in Bad Axe for 4 months and haven't found a single person to teach through Facebook, despite my best efforts. Yet finally that work has paid off! We shall see if these individuals continue to investigate

Us and the Saginaw Brethren at the Bad Axe sign Hello everyone!! Its been another great week here in Bad Axe, Michigan.  This week we met once again with our friend Stacy down in Sandusky. She seemed quite interested and all the things that we shared with her she agreed with. We met her at this community building to have our lesson, and on the way out we were stopped by a couple of individuals. They asked who we worked for and we told them we were missionaries. Long story short, we left them both with copies of the Book of Mormon, and our numbers. However, they didn't want to give us their numbers... still though, it was a good time! We also had another lesson our friend Tim, the pastor. This time, we took our branch mission leader, Byron, with us to the lesson. And let me tell you, Byron is just awesome. He's the most hilarious guy you will ever meet, with an awesome conversion story and a strong testimony. The lesson went really well, and Tim told us that he was very gratef

Selfie at a cool mall in Frankenmuth Hello everyone!! This week has been CRAZY!!! It has been such a blast for many different reasons, and will remain probably one of my favorite memories of my mission. At the start of this week, last Monday night, our Zone leaders announced the start of a zone-wide competition, to see which district could make the most videos in about 5 days. The Saginaw Elders immediately decided we wanted to blow the other district out of the water, but to do it discreetly. So we laid out a plan to make a ton of quality videos, and to upload them all on the last day, an hour before the deadline. We also decided to keep the zone leaders out of the loop (even though they are in our district) to make sure the other district wouldn't find out our plan.  The next day we thought up a TON of ideas, and made a goal to make 10 videos a day. And guess what, we made 10 awesome videos that day. And we kept it up for the next 5 days. I'm not going to lie, it was tiring
