Our last lunch in Brás Cubas! |
We officially transferred safe and sound to Cidade Morumbi!! On our last day in the area, we were able to have one final lunch with a family of the Vila Lavina ward, who were one of our favorite families in the ward. The couple is actually expecting their son to return from his mission this month, so we are very excited for them! We said our goodbyes, and then waited for the new elders to arrived, and waited, and waited... they ended up arriving about 2 and a half hours later than we expected, but that's okay! After about an hour drive, through Eucalyptus tree farms and fields, we arrived in Morumbi, at our new house!
Lucky us, this area belonged to sisters for many years, until about 6 months ago, so it's a really nice house and area! Unfortunately, the previous elders didn't clean at all, so we arrived to a dusty and filthy home. But after about 3 hours of scrubbing, sweeping and mopping (and a little bit of extra work throughout the week), we made the place squeaky clean! Then, to end the night we ordered 2 pizzas, which were delicious!

Pizza, after deep cleaning. |
Though we are still getting to know our areas, we are actually taking care of 3 wards, Morumbi, Jardim Satélite, and Parque Industrial. The members here are very kind, and though they are still quite cautious when it comes to COVID, we are excited to motivate them and get the ball rolling with the work here!
Though it's a bit far, we have a really nice supermarket near us that has everything you could dream of, basically the equivalent of a Walmart. Today we also plan to visit one of the two big malls that are in our are boundaries as well, which was something we simply did not have in Brás Cubas.

Trip to the mall! We both bought Naruto shirts, "Rasengan!" |
Funny enough, our zone leaders consist of one of our previous zone leaders, Elder Isidro, and my MTC companion, Elder Morales. I was really hoping I would get to be in the same zone as him before heading home, and I got my wish!!
On a more spiritual note, this week, I've really felt a drive to change, and repent, specifically concerning the way I do the work of the Lord. Elder Costa and I got really comfortable in Brás Cubas, and though we worked, there was a lot that was lacking with our day-to-day habits. But here in Morumbi, I've really felt that we need to change, and plan our days and weeks better, working side by side with the members. I have no doubt that the Lord will work wonders here, according to our hard work and the dedication of the ward members as well. But I would invite you all to think as well about your own lives. What are some things you need to stop doing, and things you need to start doing, to be more like Jesus Christ? It may seem like a really silly question, but ponder about these things, and then in the words of Michael Jackson, "Make that change!".
