Week 51 (Week 5 Back in Brazil!)
Olá gente. Espero que sua semana foi ótimo! I have to be honest, it's been quite a boring week, but don't worry, I still have a few fun stories to share.
Now if you know me, you know I love food, and this week we had one of the best meals I have had in a while! It was the regular rice and beans with some steak, farofa, and grilled onions, as well as some Brazilian stroganoff that Elder Souza made for the day. I have to tell you, stroganoff is one of my favorite Brazilian foods so far. When I was here last year, even though I was only here for about 3-4 weeks, I remember being served stroganoff at almost every meal appointment. But my second time back, I have only had it once so far, until this week I had some again, and thank goodness for Elder Souza's cooking skills, because it was delicious.
Two days ago was Elder Souza's birthday! I had been thinking he was 20 about to turn 21, but turns out he was 21 going on 22. It makes sense since he joined the church when he was 18, and left a year after, but man he's so much older than me. A few days before Elder Souza's birthday he had mentioned such at a lesson with a part member family, and also to a couple sister missionaries in our zone. When the 13th came, both the family and the sisters surprised us with 2 cakes, and let's just say, Elder Souza was very thankful. The cake the sister's gave us was themed after Elder Souza's Harry Potter house, Slytherin, and came with a well done drawing of the house Crest. Speaking of Harry Potter, after this encounter Elder Souza asked me if I had ever taken the sorting hat test to see which Harry Potter house I belong to. I had a long time ago, but wanted to see if my house had changed. After taking the test, I was sorted into the Hufflepuff house! Elder Souza laughed so hard claiming it's the worst house, but I would beg to differ. I'm proud to be a Puff.
