Week 67 (Week 21 Back in Brazil!)
Antonio's wonderful family |
"There is no physical, emotional or spiritual infirmity that Christ cannot heal." (Matthew L. Carpenter). This week I was amazed when studying about the healing power of the atonement of Jesus Christ, how it truly reaches to anyone who seeks to change for the better. If you are struggling in any way, whether because of your own decisions, or those of others, remember that you are not alone. The Savior Jesus Christ knows exactly your pains, and exactly your sorrows, and he can make you whole.
This week started off with a bang as we said goodbye to our dear mission president and his wife, President and Sister Miller, and welcomed the new presidency, President and Sister Kofford. It's pretty crazy to have had 4 mission presidents by now, but nonetheless I'm grateful. I've learned a lot from each of these sweet couples, but I will always be particularly grateful for President Miller, and the kind love and trust he showed me.
Elder Costa and I also made cookies this week using a recipe sister Miller left us all. They certainly weren't the best cookies I have ever had, but they were still really good, and it was fun to make and bake them while listening to a broadcasted family home evening in one of the wards we take care of, Vila Lavina. Our dear friend Angela was able to watch the broadcast, and really enjoyed hearing the testimonies of all the members about prayer and fasting. Angela is such a sweet soul, who lives very far from us, and far from any members of the church. But she really believes in the gospel, and has changed incredibly in the time that we have known her. I ask that you all include her in your prayers, that the Lord can provide a way for her to attend church, and be baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

We also had some fun lunches with members of the Vila Lavina ward this week! One of the members was actually born in Utah, but only lived there for a short bit of his childhood. However ,he speaks quite good English, and they made us an Oreo dessert that reminded me very much of home, since my Mom always made the most delicious dessert with Oreos, pudding, and whipped cream. The members always talk about how much of a blessing it is to have the missionaries in their homes, but I can certainly say that it is a huge blessing to us too.
But I hope you all enjoy some fun pictures from this week we took! Take care.
