Week 70 (Week 24 Back in Brazil!)

Patricia's baptism.

Wow, what a wonderful week it has been! I wanted to start out my email sharing an awesome scripture I read this week in Mosiah 5, verse 12, which says "I would that ye should remember to retain the name [of Christ] written always in your hearts". I love so much this invitation from King Benjamin because it has so much layered meaning. I find it truly important that he invited us to write the name of Christ in our hearts, and not just on our wrists, or in our mind. Our heart is generally associated with feeling, and love, emotion and joy, and when we center those feelings in Christ, everything we do follows suit with what Jesus would do. But how exactly can we keep Christ always written in our hearts? I don't think it's a one time experience that remains forever without maintenance. Rather, I believe that we need to work and labor every day to remember Jesus Christ, and love and serve as he did. Choosing the harder right, rather than the easier wrong each and every day.

This week we saw our dear friend Patricia begin to write the very name of Christ in her heart, as she entered the waters of Baptism on Sunday. It was a wonderful morning, filled with the spirit, and I'm sure a special moment for Patricia and her family as well. Despite the 7 little kids running around and yelling, it was a very spiritual morning, and the start of a life of discipleship for Patricia!

We also had the chance to have in-person exchanges with our zone leaders this week, in which I traveled up to Guarulhos to work with Elder Kalomoh for the day. It was a slower day in all honesty, but still fun to get to know Elder Kalomoh and the area there. We made some awesome lasagna for lunch that day and I found out that Elder Kalomoh's companion, Elder Isidro, is a Hufflepuff as well. #ProudToBeAPuff

I also finally turned 20 years old this week! It still doesn't feel real that I'm that old, but at the same time, I'm glad! Now I am officially no longer a teenager. Later in the day, we picked up a chocolate and coconut cake at a members house, and then put on 20 candles and 3 firework candles, managing to take a few good pictures. But overall it was a really fun day!

Celebrating my birthday!

Anyways, thank you for all your love and support, and birthday wishes. Have a wonderful week everybody!
