Week 78 (Week 32 Back in Brazil!))

The baptism of our friend Sarah!

This week was absolutely awesome! We had the baptism of our friend Sarah, who was very excited this week, preparing to be baptized and confirmed a member of the church of Jesus Christ. Some of her family came down for the baptism, and her dad and sister, who are non members as well, really enjoyed the service and the church! For the baptism, Elder Costa and I prepared a chocolate coconut cake which turned out really good, and everyone was so surprised that it was the elders who made it.

The next day we said our goodbyes to Sarah and her family unknowingly, for about an hour later we received our long awaited transfer call.

Here's the news! Both Elder Costa and I will be leaving our area... we are so, so excited, but a little sad to say goodbye to these wonderful members and friends we have come to love here. This has truly been my favorite transfer on my mission, and for that much I thank the Lord. I will be going to serve in Poá, an area pretty close to my last area in Brás Cubas, in the Itaqua zone as well. And guess what? I'll be training another brand new missionary!! I just love training, and the Lord seems to know it. But I mean that from the bottom of my heart. Elder Costa, on the other hand, will be going to work in the mission office, as a technology specialist which is crazy because he only has 5 months in the mission! But despite that, he is very much qualified, and will do a fantastic job there. It'll be nice as well, because I'll probably see and talk with him a lot still since he will always be working there at the office.

This week was mainly so wonderful, however, because of my attitude. I realized lately that I am very often over critical with myself, expecting myself to be perfect in nearly all aspects. However, I took some time to reflect one day, and felt that I needed to remember that, despite my weaknesses and faults, I'm doing great things, and improving myself every day. It's okay to make mistakes sometimes, in fact, it's exactly through those mistakes that we learn and grow. So if any of you are having a hard time, beating yourself up a bit, remember the good in your life, both that you have accomplished, and that which God has given you, and I promise that things will start to look up for you too.
