Week 81 (Week 35 Back in Brazil!)

Fernanda and Hellena's baptism!

Yet another week down, full of miracles, laughs, and baptisms!!  Earlier this week we had the chance to receive a training for all the new missionaries at the mission office, so we coordinated with the sisters in our districts, and made our way down there. The training was awesome, and I received some awesome news that a lady I had taught a few months ago will be baptized here pretty soon in the coming months! Unfortunately on our way home from the training we found that the ticket booth was closed, but after much struggle, we finally managed to find our way home.

This Saturday, we also were blessed to be part of the baptism of our dear friends Fernanda and Hellena, the family of the recently departed missionary Elder Souza, or as we know him, Arthur. The baptism itself had a few hiccups, but it was a very spiritual experience, in which the parents of Fernanda stepped foot for the first time in the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They seemed to quite enjoy the baptism, and supported their daughter's decision.  This also marked both Elder Ceron's first baptism on the mission, as well as Elder Souza's! Lets just say I am very happy for the two of them, as well as Fernanda and Hellena.

The following day on Sunday, we were able to get to know the other 2 wards we take care of, Itaqua and Vila Virginia. It was a little weird for us since the chapel was full of regular chairs instead of the normal wooden pews.  However, it was a blessing to meet the members of these two wards, and feel their love for the work of the Lord. After the meeting, we gave a blessing to a sister who was recently diagnosed with cancer, as well as delivered some basic food supplies to a non-member who's neighbor was Kelly's daughter, Kelly being the Relief Society president of the Vila Virginia ward.  After we had a delicious lunch with Sister Cida, her husband, and their nephew, who served a mission in Portugal. We had a lot of good laughs, and came to love this family, even in such a short time.
Chocolate, peanut-covered cake we made!

Today we were also able to visit the mall in Suzano, and I finally tracked down a "Disney castle" that I saw a few months ago when leaving a district p-day activity in Suzano, Turns out it is a pre school, but man is it cool! imagine going to school every day at a little Disney-fied castle! That's sound like a pretty good childhood to me!

Popeyes at the mall.

I found a Disney castle, woo hoo!!!

We found the stairway to heaven, come join us!
